Fall Creek Gardens presents a fascinating discussion with LaManda Joy, Master Gardener and Founder of the Peterson Garden Project in Chicago, IL. The conversation focuses on community gardens and how they enhance the fabric of cities and the lives of everyone it touches through social interactions and accessibility to fresh food. Following the conversation is a Q & A and book signing for Start A Community Food Garden: The Essential Handbook.

Event attendees can also bid on a variety of unique and exciting silent auction items prior to the start of the event. The proceeds earned from this event will be used to help renovate Fall Creek Gardens’ building that was purchased with a grant from the Efroymson Family Fund, a CICF Fund, to create a food market and teaching kitchen for the organization’s programs and classes.
