Strategic Plan
Together with neighborhood partners, MFCDC works to strengthen and preserve a strong, sustainable community that maintains investment flows, spurs economic activity, generates personal wealth, provides safe and healthy environments, and encourages participation from a mixed-income and culturally diverse community.
A community where:
Residents feel empowered to improve the quality of life and physical environment, by working hand-in-hand with public, nonprofit, and private institutions
No one is threatened by crime or violence
Families and individuals of all incomes can access quality housing options
The economy is progressive and vibrant
All development is done in a comprehensive, sustainable, and innovative way

MFCDC is a Tool for the Neighborhood: Residents Guide Our Strategic Plan
MFCDC has conducted two years of research to learn the needs and wants of community members. MFCDC found that citizens shared concerns around three main topics:
1. Neighborhood residents want more green space and beautification efforts
2. Neighborhood residents feel disconnected from their neighbors
3. Neighborhood residents want tools to help them bring change to the community
In response to these concerns, MFCDC developed action steps in our strategic plan. We made it a priority to develop more green space and to leverage resources to make Mapleton-Fall Creek a more attractive place to live. To address the resident's feelings of being disconnected, MFCDC is coordinating a community building initiative focused to build relationships among neighbors and to remove the physical barriers between neighbors by transforming vacant and abandoned properties into homes for families to live in. Lastly, MFCDC is engaging residents in capacity building activities so that they are equiped with the tools to create positive change in the community.
