To bring about comprehensive and sustainable change, MFCDC examines all the things that gives a place its identity, makes it an attractive place to live, and provides a good quality of life for its residents. We call it Place-making and we believe it encompasses:
Housing: Ensure that housing options are available for everyone by providing affordable rental and homeownership opportunities and help residents achieve a greater level of safety and energy efficiency, so that they may live in their homes longer.
Economic Development: Facilitate community enhancing economic development activities in Mapleton- Fall Creek through business attraction and development, node revitalization, asset building, marketing, and investment.
Recreation: Foster a healthy community providing access and connectivity to neighborhood and city recreational and wellness amenities.
Infrastructure: Idenditfy and advocate for community infrastructure enhancements including connectivity to public transportation, utilities and improved streetscapes.
Sustainability: Doing things in an innovative and thoughtful way that ensures the wellbeing of our residents and environment
Community Building: Play a central role in community organizing and works with neighborhood associations and other local organizations to address key community issues.
