MFCDC believes a strong community is one where neighbors unite around common interests and a love for their area.
MFCDC supports the development of a stong community by...
Supporting Resident-led Activities
MFCDC wants residents to feel empowered to improve their quality of life and physical environment. We recognize, value, and promote resident-led activities and support them in working hand-in-hand with public, nonprofit, and private institutions. By doing so, we are able to strengthen and leverage positive community change in our community.
Helping Neighbors Get to Know One Another
MFCDC works to strengthen relationships among neighbors, community organizations, and businesses by organizing activities that encourage connections. These activities include: business networking breakfasts, annual meetings, neighborhood festivals, volunteer projects, and more!
Encouraging Neighbors to be a Part of the Community's Progress
It is MFCDC’s goal to engage our residents directly in the planning and development of the Mapleton-Fall Creek neighborhood. To ensure this meaningful participation, leadership, and ownership of revitalization efforts, MFCDC conducts Community Input Sessions and hosts Public Meetings. These opportunities for dialogue allows MFCDC to gather important input from MFC residents about what they want and need in the neighborhood that directly influences our development strategy.
Developing Partnerships for Capacity Building
MFCDC partners with external resources to bring educational opportunities into the neighborhood. We do this by developing workshops and community forums around residents’ topics of interest. Some past workshop topics include: backyard conservation, wildlife habitats, rain barrel construction, money management, and homeownership.
