Jackie Nytes, Executive Director
Jackie has long been dedicated to Mapleton-Fall Creek where she first purchased an abandoned home with her husband Michael O’Brien in 1979. She came to Indiana from Wisconsin to work at the public library in Carmel and eventually served as Associate Director and CFO of the Indianapolis Marion County Public Library for 13 years. During those years, she was active in the Neighborhood Association and served on the Board of the Development Corporation. In 1999 she was elected to the City County Council and continues to serve the residents of District 9 in that capacity. Jackie believes that the Mapleton-Fall Creek Neighborhood, with its rich history and wonderful housing stock, offers some of the best opportunities in the city to raise a family and enjoy quick and easy access to all that our great city has to offer. Now on their third home in the neighborhood (that they restored after it had been converted to commercial use in the late 1950’s), Jackie and her family attend St. Joan of Arc Church and host a continuous stream of foreign exchange students through Homestay International.
